REGULARE FLOAT

Float glass is one of the most widely used glazing options and is perfect for everyday low-value artwork.


Pros 

  • Easy to clean 
  • Easy to use
  • Near perfect, flat, clear glass
  • Comes in a variety of thicknesses from 2 - 6 m


Cons

  • Not UV rated
  • Green colour cast
  • Breakable
  • Heavy in larger thicknesses

DIFFUSED GLASS

 Diffused glass is acid etched to give a non-glare, diffused finish.  


Pros

  • Use on artwork that is going to be placed in a room with a high volume of uncontrolled light.
  • Use to frame items that do not require a lot of depth.  
  • Perfect for harsh lighting conditions
  • Use when bad glare is the problem
  • Reduces the 'mirror effect' of unwanted reflections


Cons

  • Diffused Glass is not suitable for deep box framing or multi-layered mounts over 3mm. 
  • Can soften details in images

Artglass AR coating alters the light transmission qualities of glass surfaces, virtually eliminating reflections.

 Artglass AR has the most neutral reflected colour in the industry

making it practically invisible, so all the viewer observes is pure art.

  • AR99WW - 99% UV filtration with White Water
  • ArtGlass99 - Excellent quality float glass with 99% UV Filtration

Plastic glass is a good quality, lightweight and shatter-resistant glazing material. Ideal for the larger frame or where safety is a consideration.  Available with UV filter and or scratch-resistant coating as specialist products.


  •  Cast acrylic  -  the most optically clear and harder than Extruded acrylic. 
  • Styrene - low-cost lightweight and shatter-resistant glazing material.  
  •  Artshield acrylic - a special coat has been applied to both sides. It blocks >99% of UV and is much more resistant to scratching. 
  • All UV-filtering acrylics offer 99% protection from harmful UV rays.

 Top quality silvered float glass. 

Available in plain or antiqued.

For that extra touch of elegance our range of bevelled mirror are the perfect fit. 


  • Safety backed - comes with a film attached to the back of the mirror to keep most of the mirror in one piece in case of breakage.
  • Antique - has an aged effect applied.
  • Our bevelled mirrors come on a 4mm thick silvered (mirror) float glass with a 25mm bevelled edge.
